Welcome to Season 2 of Tailgators Setup Podcast!
John, Gary and Brian would like to welcome you, or welcome you back if you listened to us last year, and invite you to buckle up for another unprecedented, historical season of college football.
We begin with conference realignment. Add a first-time 12-team College Football Playoff. And of course, sprinkle in a number of key players in new places thanks to the transfer portal.
It is going to be a wild season!
In this year’s preseason podcast we will discuss each of those changes, give you our thoughts on who we think will win each of the Big 4 conferences, and a look ahead to Week 1 of the college football season, which kicks off this Saturday, August 24 at Noon.

Conference Winners:
The Tailgators pick who they think win each of the Big 4 conferences. These are the teams that will receive the 4 byes for the College Football Playoff.
SEC: In the SEC, all three agree Georgia will win, with Ole Miss coming in second.
B1G: Gary, being a total homer, likes Penn State, with Oregon in second. John, drinking Penn State head coach James Franklin’s Kool-Aid, also likes the Nittany Lions. Brian likes Oregon and Ohio St.
ACC: Brian likes Florida St. John likes NC State. Gary likes NC State, but says to keep an eye on Louisville.
Big 12: John likes Utah. Gary likes Utah. Brian picks Oklahoma State.
4th Down: The Heisman Race. We discuss briefly the candidates for the Heisman Trophy.
Schedules: Will Colorado and Deion even win a game this year?
Our Top 12: We give each of our Top 12 teams that we believe will make the College Football Playoff. These will be shared and posted each week.
Our Picks: We pick our winners for this weekend’s games, highlighted by Florida St. vs. George Tech in Ireland.
