The Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech finds a pot of gold in Ireland; a full slate of banger, after banger, after banger this weekend; which leaves John all smiles…for now.
Brian has a 1-game lead in the Pick ‘em challenge thanks to Montana State.
Watch Tailgators Setup on Substack:
1st Down: No. 10 Florida State lost to Georgia Tech on Saturday in Dublin, Ireland. It was a great game, with a great atmosphere. We ask John:
Reactions to the performance by both teams? J.D. Uiagalelei underwhelmed.
Is GT an ACC title contender? WWE Superstar Sheamus was the only one who picked Tech against the Noles!
How do you think European fans react to players being tackled/hit and bouncing right back up?
2nd Down: The Ohio State Hype Machine has picked up steam this week.
Through the transfer portal the school has pulled together a roster worth $20 million, and that doesn’t even include new OC Chip Kelly. “Ryan Day better win a national championship, or Ryan Day is fired,” according to John.
3rd Down: Green Dots.
Communication with players on the field is new this season. How will that affect play this season, and for players, specifically quarterbacks, moving on to the NFL?
4th Down: A loaded weekend schedule!
ABC dominates the big games with a Saturday triple header. After the Georgia-Clemson game at noon, they give us Miami-Florida at 3:30 p.m. followed by Notre Dame at Texas A&M at 7:30 p.m. Not to mention Penn State at West Virginia at noon on Saturday, and USC and LSU battling it out in Vegas on Sunday night.
John’s Game(s) of the Week:
No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 14 Clemson, 12 p.m. on ABC from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Ga.
John tells viewers to get ready for the Bulldogs’ Revenge Tour.
Gary’s Cocktail of the Week:
The Clemson Creamsicle and Georgia Bulldog Cocktail are this week’s picks for Gary’s Cocktail of the Week!
Clemson Creamsicle
2 oz. Vanilla Vodka
4 oz. Orange Soda
Top with whipped cream
Georgia Bulldog Cocktail
1 1/2 oz. Vanilla Vodka
1/2 oz. Peach Schnapps
4 oz. Coke
Brian’s New Favorite Player:
Georgia Tech middle linebacker, Kyle Efford. He wears No. 44 and a bulky neck roll. He looks like an old-school football player, or as John pointed out, like Bobby Boucher, Adam Sandler’s character in The Waterboy.
The “Just For Men” (#notsponsored) Pick ‘em Challenge:
Pick ‘em: John, Gary and Brian make their weekly picks. And Brian offers a Ryan Day “Just For Men” bet/stipulation at the end of the season for the loser, which the guys heartily accept!
