This Week’s Top 5 (2023 Record in Parenthesis):
Other games to watch:
17 Tennessee at 11 Alabama 3:30 p.m. on CBS: As long as Bama has only 1 loss, they are still in contention for a college football playoff spot. Can Milroe eliminate costly mistakes and continue to develop?
16 Duke at 4 Florida State 7:30 p.m. on ABC: Another big game for Duke, with a chance for an ACC title still up for grabs. Duke has surprised Clemson and fought Notre Dame tough. Could the Dukies surprise the Seminoles?
14 Utah at 18 USC 8 p.m. on FOX: A loss here effectively eliminates them from college football playoff contention. The Pac-12 title is still up for grabs, however.
Arizona State at 5 Washington 10:30 p.m. FS1: Do the Huskies have a let-down after their big win against Oregon?
John’s Underdog of the Week:
Stanford over UCLA - UCLA has struggled mightily for the past few weeks, especially with QB play. Stanford may have gotten the shot in the arm they needed with a huge comeback win over Colorado. 16.5 points just seems too much to me for UCLA to be on the road too.
Heisman Trophy Watch:

Is it now Penix Jr.’s Heisman to lose? Caleb Williams is done with the loss, especially since he already won it. Does Jordan Travis still have an outside shot?
Caleb Williams (QB, USC), Jayden Daniels (QB, LSU), Quinn Ewers (QB, Texas), Jordan Travis (QB, FSU), Shadeur Sanders (QB, COL), Michael Penix Jr. (QB, Washington), Bo Nix (QB, OR) Ray Davis (RB, KY), Brock Bowers (TE, Georgia), Dillon Gabriel (QB, OU), Carson Beck (QB, Georgia)
131 teams. Only 1 will survive.
